I feel so bad, I meant to post this almost a week ago, but I've been so busy I honestly haven't finished reading. Well, let's aim for the end of the New Year to finish this up, and feel free to just pop in and discuss once you read the book. I highly doubt the ending is a surprise to any of us, but we can carry on the discussion of the previous topics and anything else that comes to mind as we finish. Hope you all have a merry Christmas, and stay safe through any travels.

I'm so glad I've finally read The Christmas Carol. It was even fun to have to look up some words in the dictionary. I thought my vocabulary was not too shabby, but Dickens ran it through some hoops.
There were some interesting parts that left me wondering:
Ghost of Christmas Present - talks about his brothers, more than 1800 of them. This book first came out in 1843. Could there be on Ghost for every year after Christ's birth?
-the scene where Ignorance and Want appear was very...weird. I wish I had more to say about that, but I don't.
I love how open to learning Scrooge has now become.
I actually gasped when the ghost quoted Scrooge's own words about decreasing "the surplus population." That was a pretty deep cut.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the game of Glee and Catch, with Topper chasing the niece. It made me smile.
The last part was pretty much what I expected, with a sweet and tender ending.
